My life in six words

She's too verbose for six words.

There seems to me to be some sort of trend in the bite-sized. We have bite-size chocolate, bite-size cars, bite-size social networks, bite-size houses and bite-size books.

But books are a different sort of bite-size. People want content, but they want it fast and easy. They want a book they can read on a two-hour plane flight. They don't want literary fiction as often; they want something less like filet mignon and more like popcorn.

Books should be summarized in a single, ten-word sentence. Have you seen this? Every event, I see a thread on the NaNoWriMo forums about it. The idea is what it sounds like - take ten words to tell us your book. But is that really enough?

I prefer concise language, but I think in this 140 character world, we're letting go of a little too much. Straightforward is fine, but bare bones is not. We all need hearty meals and, at times, I worry we're starving ourselves.

TL;DR You missed it.
